2009 REVIEW
I
had another busy year with four AMCA shows and three other large ones, and two
AMCA Board meetings. In the USA, swap
meet attendance seems to have stabilised despite high gasoline prices and Ebay
trading, while the US dollar and the euro are strong enough against sterling to
make the UK a cheap country in which to manufacture parts.

AMCA EUROPEAN CHAPTER
Our
sixth National Meet in Dinkelsbühl in June was a big success, with much of it
reported on our Website at www.amca-europe.org. Join up if you are not already
a member at the main AMCA Website www.antiquemotorcycle.org. For this year,
check out www.harleysons.de for more details of our new meet in Den Haag,
Netherlands, late May.
NEW PARTS
I’m struggling to find original parts to replenish my stock, but no problem on repro parts. I took advantage of the exchange rates to make new batches of several machined parts in England. The gear company that made the four speed gears also manufactured a number of more mainstream items for me.
Wishing you safe and happy riding in 2010, Steve Slocombe.
