William S Harley was the Chief Engineer when the VL was designed, and he maintained an uncompromising commitment to quality even through the Great Depression. The Indian racers used Harley roller bearings and engine bottom ends because they were just that much more rugged and better made. Appreciate these enduring qualities for yourself, and save those quarter point deductions by the AMCA judges!
